From having a market stall in London's East-end, a stint as a trainee chemist, and then an Honours degree (Management Sciences) from Warwick University, I progressed through a number of marketing and strategy development roles in blue chip international companies. I have spent the last 29 years at board level across a range of sectors including manufacturing, FMCG, biotech, retail and B2B services. Having been a lead participant in two MBO acquisitions (each over £10M enterprise value) I have, for the last 15 years, been an independent consultant and Chairman in the biotech and services sectors, mainly raising capital for early stage businesses. For the last 5 years I have been working with Grant Thornton LLB and University of Greenwich delivering advice to the SME sector on behalf of Government Business Support programmes, as well as working with several independent clients through MAS .
